Hanging in There

Just wanted to let you know that Mist is still in the hospital, but the contractions have slowed down.  She's still receiving a low dose of magnesium sulfate, which isn't much fun.:(   It gives her a dull headache and makes her a little nauseous.  However, she's heard horror stories about the magnesium, so she is thankful those are the only side effects so far.  The doctor will check her over tomorrow and decide if she can go home with medicine, or if she'll need to go ahead and stay in the hospital.  She hates being away from Emersyn, but at this point feels more comfortable in the hospital since her contractions are being monitored.

I went to see her today, and she's hanging in there.  I can tell she's doing her best to remain calm.:)  She's much stronger than she gives herself credit for, so I know she'll be ok!  She wanted me to thank everyone for the prayers and sweet messages.  I'll let you know what she finds out from her doctor tomorrow.  Please keep the prayers coming!!

Update on Misti & the Boys

Misti went in for her Dr.'s appointment today, and the doctor told her she was having contractions.  She wanted Misti to stay at the hospital to monitor the contractions and take medicine to slow them down.  At this point, the plan is for her to stay there for the next 48 hours.  I talked to Mist a few minutes ago, and she said the contractions have slowed down.  She's hoping this means they won't need to increase the dose of the medicine.  The boys all look great, and the doctor is thinking this is just a little bump in the road.  Please keep them in your prayers!  Hopefully, she'll be back home in no time!

I'll keep you posted.

Mi-Mi's Birthday

Yesterday was my mom's 62nd birthday. She's definitely a young 62! Megan and Pete had us over for lunch to celebrate. Here are some pictures we took of the special day.

26 Weeks!

Here I am, 26 weeks along, and praying for 10 more!

Yesterday I had another doctor's appointment. I had another sonogram and was given a steroid shot for the babies' lungs. Everything looked great on the sonogram, but they had to end it a little sooner than planned, as I stated to get a little queasy from laying flat on my back so long. Therefore, unfortunately I don't have any weights to report today, but we'll hopefully get them next week.

Thank goodness my sidekick, Megan, went with me to help me get through my shot. Since we were in grade school getting our flu shots, we have had a strategy of helping with the pain. We just pinch each other. ha ha! One of the many bonuses of being a twin.  So, I got a picture of the damage Megan did to my arm during the shot. We were cracking up over the situation, but I think the nurse thought, "What in the world?" I told her she probably was thinking I'm not mature enough to have triplets, but she didn't respond. ha,ha!

Megan could only avoid getting a picture on my blog for so long! Here's one I took one of her as we waited for the doctor.

I told the doctor it's hard being an identical twin when I'm the one that can barely roll over, and she's headed to the gym for pilates! I'm just kidding.... Megan has been such an unbelievable support for me! I think you can tell from my previous posts that she is an amazing mom as well!  I can't begin to tell you how blessed I feel to be a twin.  That is why I feel so fortunate to be having multiples. I know they will share such a special bond!

Well, that's all I have for now. I'll be posting again soon. Take Care!

Triplet Friends

Today we had special visitors. We enjoyed meeting eight month old triplet boys, Henry, Harrison, and Hudson, and their big sister Nora. I met their mom, Lindsey through Megan's neighbors. After talking on the phone a couple times, we found out our stories are quite similar. Lindsey had a two year old little girl when she found out she was expecting spontaneous triplet boys!  Lindsey is so sweet, and her children are just dolls! It was so nice of her to make the hour drive to meet us. I'm excited that we have connected, and look forward to many future play dates!

Here are a few pictures from our visit.....

Here's a few extra pictures of Emersyn posing in her swimsuit:)

Such Sweet Family!

This past Wednesday, my aunt and cousins surprised us with a visit! We stayed at my house for a little while, and then headed over to Megan's so they could see her new place. It was great visiting with them, and so sweet of them to make the drive over.  We always have such a good time together! I know Emersyn, Finley, and Beau loved seeing them as well!  I can't believe the next time we see them I'll have three more babies for them to entertain! Thanks again you guys! We love and miss you!

On Friday, my mom and Megan took Emersyn to the mall to shop for fall clothes.  I'm so lucky I have two personal shoppers who know exactly what I would like:) Anyway, I thought these pictures of Emersyn were cute. She just loves to carry a purse or shopping bag around at all times. I have to admit, she probably gets that from me:)  Here she is, before and after her shopping trip.

Making sure she has money to spend at the mall:)
Showing off her bargains!

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend! We're just relaxing around here. I'm trying to keep these boys inside as long as possible!  It's pretty amazing to lay here and feel them all kicking at once!  Sometimes I think they're having a competition to see who can kick mommy the hardest:) I can handle it though. Especially since it reassures me that they are all strong and healthy!
Take care!

24 Weeks!

I can't believe I am already 6 months along! Yesterday the doctor said I looked tired. I thought, "What do you expect, I'm 6 months pregnant with 3 babies!" Anyway, I came home, added a little more make-up, and took this picture:)

84 Years Young!

64 yrs of marriage + 6 children + 20 grandchildren + 10 great-grandchildren (3 on the way) + 1 great-great grandchild
= 1 AMAZING MAN !

Happy Birthday PaPaw! We love you!

Yesterday's Dr.'s Appointment

Our appointment went really well! The doctor said all three boys look healthy and that their weights are great! Baby A- 1 lb, 13oz, Baby B- 1 lb, 10oz, Baby C- 1 lb, 6oz
I am still not on strict bed rest, but she did say to stay off my feet as much as possible.  My next appointment is in two weeks. At that time I will have another sonogram, and be getting a steroid shot that will help mature the babies' lungs if they happen to come early.

Thanks again for ALL your thoughts and prayers! We are so blessed to have such supportive friends and family!

Emersyn's Visit to IL

On Tuesday, Mi-Mi and Megan took all the kids to my parents' house in Illinois. Even though I miss Emersyn SO much, I know she loves to get out of the house and have a change of scenery.  My mom and Megan do a great job of keeping her entertained:) I would love for Emersyn to snuggle up with me on the couch all day, but realize that's the last thing a nineteen month old wants to do. Megan and her kids came back yesterday, and then Mi-Mi will be bringing Em back tomorrow. Brennan went to visit a friend in Michigan for the weekend, so Megan and Pete had me over for dinner last night. Megan filled me in on their visit and gave me a few pictures to share!

Here are some pictures from MaMaw and PaPaw's house (my grandparents). It's the place to be!  They always have a houseful of people! More importantly, it's filled with a lot of love and laughter:)

Next stop... Aunt Lana's pool!  Another place we love to go when we're in Charleston.  We always hang out at her place for hours on end:)

Emersyn and her buddy, Uncle Jerry:)

On Thursday, they visited Tiffany and her quads! I was so jealous! Tiffany is planning to come visit over Labor Day weekend, and I can't wait. Who would have thought that best friends would both have multiples!  She has been such a huge support ever since the day I found out I was expecting triplets. I remember her saying, "Misti, you can do this!" She knew exactly what I was thinking and what I needed to hear.  She is such a wonderful mother! I used to say, "God knew exactly what he was doing when he gave Tiff and Jon multiples. They are the perfect people for the job." I think God must have been asleep when I got pregnant! ha ha! I just hope we can handle it with as much grace as they have.
Gavin, Reese, Lauren, and Maggie are three and a half now, and as you can see, they're just too cute!

As you can see, they had a great visit! It breaks my heart that I have to miss out, but I know it will be worth it in the end:)  I have a doctor's appointment on Monday, so I'll let you know how it goes!

23 Weeks Today!

Our Weekend....

Friday night we had a little bit of a scare. I woke up Friday morning feeling different than I have in the past. I was extremely tired, nauseous, and my back ached constantly. Of course, I assumed I was having contractions, and I didn't want to worry about it over the weekend. So, on Friday night Brennan and I headed to the hospital to see if anything was going on. After a sonogram, contraction monitor, and an hour of waiting, we found out it was a false alarm. Whew! The doctor said that it must have been the added pressure from the  babies changing position. She also said that the nausea can come and go throughout the pregnancy. I know I'm going to feel a lot more uncomfortable carrying three babies, but it's so hard to know what is considered  "normal pain" for a triplet pregnancy.

On a happier note... Brennan's team from work surprised us with a baby shower! We had a really nice time. They are all such sweet people. We truly appreciate all their thoughtfulness and support!

Sunday was a relaxing day! Tonight we had my mom, Megan's family, and our neighbors  over for dinner. We had a great time visiting and watching the kids play together!
