3 Weeks Old..... Yesterday!

The boys are doing amazing, and getting so big! They are all nursing and bottle feeding well.  The doctors haven't given us a specific date of when they will be coming home, but we're hoping within the next week or two:) Here are their current weights and a few pictures I took today.

Hayden Peter:  5 lbs, 11 oz

Parker Joe:  5 lbs 3oz

Wyatt Andrew:  4 lbs, 1oz

Multiple Blessings!

The boys are 9 days old today! They are all doing extremely well. As of today, Wyatt is breathing room air. No more tubes! They are hoping to have all three of the boys in the same room by this weekend.  I sure hope so, I know Wyatt misses being with his brothers:)  Their current weights are:  Haden, 4 lbs, 2oz,  Parker, 3 lbs 13oz, and Wyatt, 3 lbs, 3oz. The nurse said this is good, as it usually takes preemies a couple of weeks to get back to their birth weights. Here are a few pictures from today's visit. I think the twins, Parker and Wyatt, resemble Emersyn as a newborn. Hayden has a little bit different look than his brothers.

I'm Finally Home!

First, and most importantly, the boys are doing extremely well!  Hayden and Parker are both off oxygen all together, and Wyatt will hopefully be off his tomorrow. So, the only tube they have left is their feeding tube. The nurses have said that they we'll try breastfeeding and bottle feeding in a week or so.  Now that Wyatt has his c-pap tube out, we can tell that he and Parker definitely resemble each other.  I was able to hold each of them for a few minutes before being discharged from the hospital.  It is such a surreal feeling walking in to the NICU knowing we have three beautiful boys to see! I can't say enough, we are so blessed!  Emersyn is going to have to wait to meet her brothers until they come home, as the NICU doesn't allow children under 18 during the  flu season. Even though we can't wait for her to see "her babies," we would rather be safe than sorry. I promise we will be posting more pictures soon of our three growing boys!

Yes, I am finally home, but not without a little scare thrown into the mix.  I was first discharged from the hospital Sunday afternoon, however, that evening I started running a fever.  We headed back to the hospital and I was readmitted late Sunday night. The doctor ran several tests and started me on some antibiotics in case of infection.  On Monday she decided to have me get another CT scan to check for any internal issues that may have developed as a result of the two surgeries. The wait to hear the results was awful, but luckily everything checked out fine and my fever was gone. So, the doctor discharged us again yesterday afternoon. I am happy to report I am finally on the mend! It is so nice to be back home with Emersyn, and I look forward to going to the NICU every day to visit the boys.

I know this is long overdue, but there is one person I seldom thank,  and he definitely deserves it the most.... my husband! He has been pulled in so many different directions the past several weeks, and he has not complained once. I was in the hospital 41 nights and he didn't miss a one. He would wake up from a sleepless night, work during the day, visit with Em of an evening, and then head back to the hospital to be with me. Even through all the scary situations that have come up this past week, he held it together and kept me calm. I know we are going raise three strong men, as they have the best role model ever.... their dad:) Thanks Babe! We ALL love you!

PS.... Thank you again for all the prayers and support. It truly means so much. I ask that you please keep them coming, as they are definitely working! We are very fortunate to have such amazing friends and family.

And the names are....

Hayden Peter, 4lbs 3oz, 19 inches

and the twins...

Parker Joe, 4lbs 0oz, 16.5 inches

Wyatt Andrew, 3lbs 2oz, 15.9 inches

Boys and Misti are doing great. We'll send more pictures as we take them.  The picture of Wyatt is from the day that he was born.  He no longer has the big tube in his mouth....this was just the best picture we had that shows his little face.

Misti is recovering well too. She is starting to get some sleep.  They have taken all of the lines out (catheter, IV etc.) They are going to see how she is doing the next few days and will probably send her home at the beginning of the week.  She got to hold Parker today....that definitely helped!

Thanks for all of the prayers...Oh, and an important part to the story I sent yesterday.  Megan and Mimi were able to be at the hospital because we have great neighbors.  Megan called Sarah and Chad Keyton at 2 in the morning and they watched Em while the boys were being born.  They have been there for us every time we have needed them, truly 'day or night'. I am so grateful that we have such amazing friends. Keyton fam, we owe you big time!

Love to all

Crazy 48 hours

Hi everyone! Just a quick update, as I know several of you are wondering what this whole chain of events has looked like.

On Monday morning Misti was switched back to the magnesium. Her contractions were much stronger and much closer together. They slowed down for a while, but picked back up again toward the evening. She was in significantly more pain in the middle of the night-to the point that she told her nurse that she felt like she did when she was having Emersyn. A few minutes later the doctor was in, and sure enough, she was dilated to 7cm. The doctor said, "let's go have some babies!"....and Misti's response was "TONIGHT?!"....and of course, it was time. Misti was prepped and ready to have her c-section in about 20 minutes...I walked through the door, sat down next to Mist, and at 2:30am, Baby A was born. At 2:31, both B and C followed. They were taken immediately to the NICU (standard procedure)and B and C were put on ventilators to help their breathing. They said that we could go see the boys after a few hours, but after several attempts it was clear that Misti was having a lot of trouble sitting up. Misti spent the 4th laying in bed, recovering.

Yesterday, the 5th, was a great day for the boys. B and C both came off of the vents, so now all three are breathing on their own. A and B started eating yesterday too...C is a tad bit behind, but he's a fighter :) he's actually the most active out of the three, and should be eating today. They're big boys for 32 weeks.  B is 19 inches, and I think A and C are 17 and 16 inches respectively.

On the other hand, yesterday was brutal for Misti. They tried to get her up again, to no avail. Her blood work came back totally abnormal, and so to find the root of the problem they took her downstairs to get a CT scan. They found a bleed in her belly.....so misti went back to surgery at about 1:30 in the afternoon yesterday. That time was pretty stressful for everyone, and I know for misti it felt like the hits just kept on coming....not to mention the fact that she still hasn't seen the boys. They opened her up through the same incision and patched the problem. They drained quite a bit of blood- 2 liters. This wasn't a small bleed. We're all thankful they caught it in time. They have had to transfuse quite a bit of blood because of what she lost, but she is doing great now. She had a little trouble sleeping last night because of the pain, but I think the fact that she gets to see the boys today has got her all perked up. She is on some pretty strong pain medication, but with what she has gone through, there really isn't any chance of getting rid of the pain completely, at least for the next day or two.

So, the long and short...the boys are running the NICU, showing everybody 'how it's done'! Misti had a few scares, but she recovering well now. So everyone is good. I know the next question is 'what are their names?'....and those are coming. Misti wanted to wait to see them to make the decision...and thankfully, that will happen this morning.

I will update again with some pictures in the next few hours. The nurse is in....so gotta run. Thank you for all the prayers, Misti and the boys definitely needed them the last few days. As you can see, they worked:)

Love to all
